We invite you to watch our latest Electrical Building Design Show, Electrical BIM Scorecard Overview, available now. In this episode, David Robison looks back at the scorecard to recap what we learned about the available BIM packages for use by electrical engineers.
As of this publication, all episodes are available to view on the Electrical Building Design Show Playlist. If there are any you've missed, please go back through the playlist and catch whatever you would like to watch.
The next episode will premiere on Tuesday, October 15, so be sure to visit the Design Master YouTube channel and subscribe for notifications of new releases.
For those who prefer audio podcasts instead, there’s a version of the show in that format also. It’s carried on all the major podcast channels (Spotify, Apple, Google, Amazon, etc.), and can be found by searching for the show by name.
Join Us at Autodesk University
Design Master will be on-site for this year's Autodesk University at the San Diego Convention Center, October 15th - October 17th!
We’ll be highlighting our ElectroBIM software for Revit while we're there. If you plan on attending, stop by booth #172 to say hello and chat with us about ElectroBIM and your electrical design in Revit.
A Quick Question...
We are interested in what our users think on several topics, so we would love it if you would take a quick second and answer a question for us.
Someone wants to learn electrical design in Revit. What resources would you recommend?
The person could be a new engineer fresh out of school, an experienced engineer coming from AutoCAD, or anything in between. There might be different answers for different people, but we are happy to get feedback on whatever resources you can share.

Documentation Updates
Knowledge Base Updates
New Knowledge Base
The Design Master Knowledge Base has been broken out by product and integrated into the same documentation platform as the tutorials and user manuals. You can now use the search function in each product's documentation to search all available information.
A full review of the knowledge base was conducted during the migration, ensuring everything we have is useful and relevant to you and the Design Master products you use.
We invite you to check out the new knowledge bases here.
Changes made to the knowledge bases in the past month:
The following articles have been added to their respective knowledge bases.
Modeling Special Equipment Configurations: In ElectroBIM for Revit and DM Electrical for AutoCAD, if the internal specifications of your electrical equipment do not significantly impact calculations, you can use notes and manual drafting to indicate them without actually modeling them.
Database Version Error: This error occurs in AutoCAD-based Design Master products when the project or master database has been used by a machine running a newer version. Learn how to fix it, and what to do if that fix fails.
Database Connection Error: Database connection errors in AutoCAD-based Design Master products can often be fixed by restarting, but can also indicate problems with your network or database.
Error Copying Database to Backup Location: If a backup of your AutoCAD-based Design Master project files cannot be created, it could be that the file path exceeds the character limit in Windows.
Chatbot
Chatbots have been added to our ElectroBIM and Design Master Photometrics documentation. We encourage you to try it the next time you have a question outside of our support hours, or if you just want to give the chatbot a spin. You can find the link to the chatbot on the documentation sidebar.
