Modifying Ductwork Fittings

This tutorial teaches you how to modify fittings for ductwork on your drawing.

You will modify an elbow and a tee.

Open drawing M-1.0.

Square Elbow to Radius Elbow​

  1. Run the Radius Elbow command.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Ducts→  Radius Elbow
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Fittings→Radius Elbow

  2. Select a duct near the square elbow in the long copy room. You will be asked for the radius.

  3. Press the button.

The square elbow will be changed to a radius elbow.

Boot Tee to Conical Tee​

  1. Run the Conical Tee command.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Ducts→  Conical Tee
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Fittings→Conical Tee

  2. Select a duct near the tee in the concession area. You may be asked to specify a duct.

  3. Press the button.

The boot tees will be changed to conical tees.

Reset to Automatic Fitting​

  1. Run the Reset to Automatic Fitting command.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Ducts→  Reset to Automatic Fitting
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Fittings→Reset to Automatic Fitting

  2. Select a duct near the tee in the concession area again. You may be asked to specify a duct.

  3. Press the button.

The conical tees will be reset to boot tees.
