Inserting Diffuser Connections

This tutorial teaches you how to connect diffusers to the ducts you have inserted on your drawing.

Open drawing M-1.0.

Connect Diffusers to the End of a Duct​

  1. Run the End Connection command.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Diffuser Connections→  End Connection
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Diffuser Connections→End Connection

  2. Select the CD-1 diffuser in the kitchen.

  3. Select the nearest duct.

A diffuser connection will be drawn directly from the end of the duct to the diffuser.

Repeat this process for the CD-1 diffuser in the stairwell.

Connect a Diffuser Perpendicular to a Duct​

  1. Run the Single 90 Connection command.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Diffuser Connections→  Single 90 Connection
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Diffuser Connections→Single 90 Connection

  2. Select the topmost CD-1 diffuser in the lobby.

  3. Select a point on the nearest duct.

A break will be inserted in the duct at the selected point. A diffuser connection will be drawn perpendicular to the duct from the break point to the diffuser.

Connect Multiple Diffusers Perpendicular to a Single Duct​

  1. Run the Perpendicular Connection command.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Diffuser Connections→  Perpendicular Connection
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Diffuser Connections→Perpendicular Connection

  2. Select both CD-1 diffusers in the concession area and all remaining supply diffusers in the lobby.

  3. Select the duct leading to the concession area.

Perpendicular diffuser connections will be drawn from the duct to each diffuser.
