Connecting Switches to Circuits and Drawing Loops
This tutorial teaches you how to connected switches to a circuit and draw loops to a switch.

Connect a Switch to a Circuit​

Run the
Circuiting command. The Circuiting dialog box will open.
Ribbon:DM Electrical→Circuit and Homeruns→ Circuiting
Pulldown Menu:DM Electrical→Circuit and Homeruns→Circuiting -
Set Distribution Equipment ▾ to L1.

Select a circuit that is currently a space.

Press the button.

Select a switch and press ENTER. The switch and all of the connected devices will be connected to the circuit.

Press ENTER once to increment to the next circuit.

Select a light fixture that is connected to a switch and press ENTER. The light fixture, the switch, and any other devices connected to the switch will be connected to the circuit.
Draw Loops to a Switch​

Run the
Draw Homerun and Loops command.

Pulldown Menu:DM Electrical→Circuit and Homeruns→Draw Homerun and Loops -
Select a switch that is circuited.

Follow the prompts at the command line to insert the loops and homerun.

Run the
Draw Homerun and Loops command.

Select a light fixture that is circuited and connected to a switch.

Follow the prompts at the command line to insert the loops and homerun.
Notice that the loops include tick marks for the switch leg.
