Modifying Receptacles

This tutorial teaches you how to modify receptacles on your drawing.

Open drawing E-2.1,2.

Move a Receptacle​

Use the standard CAD MOVE command to move a receptacle on the drawing. You can move the receptacle like any other entity in your CAD program.

Change a Single Receptacle​

  1. Run the Query Device command.
    Ribbon: DM Electrical→Devices→  Query Device
    Pulldown Menu: DM Electrical→Modify Devices→Query Device

  2. Select a receptacle on the drawing. The Query Receptacle dialog box will open.

  3. Set Receptacle Type ☰ to Quad.

  4. Press the button to close the dialog box.

The receptacle on the drawing will change from a Duplex receptacle to a Quad receptacle.

Change Multiple Receptacles​

  1. Run the Edit Multiple Receptacles command.
    Ribbon: DM Electrical→Devices→  Edit Multiple Receptacles
    Pulldown Menu: DM Electrical→Receptacles→Edit Multiple Receptacles

  2. Select two receptacles on the drawing. The Edit Multiple Receptacles dialog box will open.

  3. Set Receptacle Type ☰ to Quad.

  4. Press the button to close the dialog box.

The receptacles on the drawing will change from Duplex receptacles to Quad receptacles.
