Modifying Equipment in the Database
This tutorial teaches you how to modify equipment that is in the database but not on a drawing.
Equipment can be modified in any drawing in your project.
Open drawing E-2.1,2.
Copy Equipment​

Run the
Copy Equipment in Database command. The Copy Equipment dialog box will open.
Ribbon:DM Electrical→Devices→ Copy Equipment in Database
Pulldown Menu:DM Electrical→Equipment→Copy Equipment in Database -
Select RTU-3.

Set New Equipment Callout to RTU-4.

Press the button. A copy of the piece of equipment will be created in the database.

Press the button to close the dialog box.
Change a Single Piece of Equipment​

Run the
Query or Edit Multiple Equipment command. The Select Equipment to Query or Edit Multiple dialog box will open.

Pulldown Menu:DM Electrical→Equipment→Query or Edit Multiple Equipment -
Select one of the RTU-3 equipment.

Press the button. The Edit Equipment dialog box will open.

Set Load 1 Connected (kVA) to 25.

Press the button to save the changes.
Change Multiple Pieces of Equipment​

Run the
Query or Edit Multiple Equipment command. The Select Equipment to Query or Edit Multiple dialog box will open.

Pulldown Menu:DM Electrical→Equipment→Query or Edit Multiple Equipment -
Select RTU-3 and RTU-4.
noteYou can use the CTRL or SHIFT keys to select multiple pieces of equipment.

Press the button. The Edit Multiple Equipment dialog box will open.

Set Drawing Note 1 to ON ROOF.

Press the button to save the changes.
Delete Equipment​

Run the
Delete Equipment from Database command. The Delete Equipment from Database dialog box will open.

Pulldown Menu:DM Electrical→Equipment→Delete Equipment from Database -
Select RTU-4.

Press the button.

Press the button.
The equipment will be deleted.
Equipment that has been placed in a drawing will not appear in the dialog box. Use the standard CAD ERASE command to remove equipment from both the drawing and the database.
