Revit 2025: New Features for Electrical Engineers

Tuesday, April 30th, 2024

This Electrical Building Design Show looks at the recently released Revit 2025, specifically exploring some updates tailored for electrical engineers. But are they a game-changer?

Historically, Revit has been light on features that are useful for electrical engineering, and this release continues that tradition by continuing to fall short in spotlighting electrical aspects. The current new features aim to smooth the electrical processes but are not as significant as could be hoped for, with the main features reserved for the mechanical and plumbing spaces.

Highlighted new features include:

  • Single Phase Electrical Components
  • Disable Mark Number Auto Generation
  • Report Low Voltage Panels
  • And more…

The Bottom Line:

Revit releases updated software versions every year, and it’s nice to see that this time there was some attention paid to the needs of electrical engineers. Revit’s improvements are a step forward but seem modest and there is still ample room for growth.

In the video below, we offer more detail on the features electrical engineers will find in the new Revit release and help explain their value and usability.
